POPEYES CHICKEN RECIPE INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 c. Tabasco sauce
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 broiler/fryer, cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 c. self rising flour, unsifted
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 to 1 1/2 c. vegetable oil for frying
POPEYES CHICKEN RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Combine first 4 items in medium size bowl. Place chicken in bowl and turn to coat well. Combine flour and salt in a plastic bag. Shake chicken in seasoned flour to coat; shake off excess. Heat oil in a large skillet to 375 degrees. Fry chicken pieces, turning once, for 30 minutes or until chicken is browned. Drain on paper toweling. For a spicier version, pierce chicken with a fork. Marinate in pepper mixture for 1 hour or more, turning frequently...Enjoy the popeyes fried chicken..!

Popeyes Chicken Recipe Ingredients
  • 1 (4 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 4 cups oil for deep frying
MARINADE
  • 1/2 cup-Louisiana hot sauce,
  • 1 1/2 cup-Italian dressing
COATING
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup Louisiana hot sauce(for spicy chicken only)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 table spoons "Emeralds Essence"
Popeyes Chicken Recipe Instructions

1. Preheat oil in deep fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. To Marinate: In a large glass dish or bowl, combine the Louisiana hot sauce,Italian dressing and mix together. Add chicken and turn to coat; cover and refrigerate to marinate for 20 minutes, turning a few times.NOTE:that this hot sauce marinade only flavors the chicken, it will not be spicy or too hot eat.
3. In a shallow dish or bowl, mix together egg , milk (and if you want it extra spicy, Louisiana hot sauce). In a separate shallow dish or bowl, mix together the flour, salt, pepper and Emeralds Essence . Remove chicken from marinade (discarding remaining marinade) and drain. One at a time, dip chicken pieces into flour mixture, then egg/milk mixture, then flour mixture again, making sure each piece is well coated. Stack coated pieces on a plate or cookie sheet.
4. Drop chicken, one piece at a time, into hot oil. Fry half of the chicken pieces (4 pieces) for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown, then fry remaining pieces for the same amount of time. (Note: Stir chicken around halfway through the frying time, so that each piece cooks evenly). Drain fried chicken for about 5 minutes on paper towels or a wire cooling rack before serving.

  • 1 tbsp. instant parsley
  • 1 tbsp. instant garlic
  • 1 lg. onion, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
POPEYES CHICKEN RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Place chicken, Ragu, parsley, garlic, onions and salt in crock pot. Add 1 jar of water (use Ragu jar). Simmer in crock pot for 4 hours on high (Chicken will literally fall off bones), sauce will thicken. Cook your favorite pasta and serve with chicken and gravy. I guarantee no one will guess you used a pre-cooked spaghetti sauce. CAUTION: This is a SPICY DISH!!

INGREDIENTS
  • 6 cups of veg. oil
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3eggs
  • 2 tablespoons white pepper
  • 1 frying chicken with skin, cut up

INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oil over medium heat in a deep fryer or in a wide deep pan, on the stove. In a large bowl, combine flour,salt, pepper and paprika.
Break the eggs into a separate bowl and beat until blended.
Check the oil by dropping in a pinch of the flour mixture. If the oil bubbles rapidly around the flour,it is ready.
Dip each piece of chicken into the eggs, then coat generously with the flour mixture. Drop each piece into the hot oil and fry 15 to 25 minutes or until it is a dark golden brown.
Remove the chicken to paper towels or a rack to drain. The Popeye's fried chicken recipe is ready to serve...enjoy !

  • 3 c Self-rising flour
  • 1 c Cornstarch
  • 3 tb Seasoned salt
  • 2 tb Paprika
  • 1 ts Baking soda
  • 1 pk Italian Salad Dressing Mix Powder
  • 1 pk Onion Soup Mix -- (1 1/2 Ounces)
  • 1 pk Spaghetti sauce mix -- (1/2 Ounce)
  • 3 tb Sugar
  • 3 c Corn flakes -- crushed
  • 2 Eggs -- well beaten
  • 4 lb Chicken -- cut up
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine first 9 ingredients in large bowl. Put the cornflakes into another bowl. Put eggs and water in a 3rd bowl. Put enough corn oil into a heavy roomy skillet to fill it 1" deep. Get it HOT!
Grease a 9x12x2 baking pan. Set it aside.
Preheat oven to 350~.
Dip chicken pieces 1 piece at a time as follows:
1-Into dry coating mix.
2-Into egg and water mix.
3-Into corn flakes.
4-Briskly but briefly back into dry mix.
5-Drop into hot oil, skin-side-down and brown 3 to 4 minutes on medium high. Turn and brown other side of each piece. Don't crowd pieces during frying. Place in prepared pan in single
layer, skin-side-up.
Seal in foil, on 3 sides only, leaving 1 side loose for steam to escape. Bake at 350~ for 35-40 minutes removing foil then to test tenderness of chicken. Allow to bake
uncovered 5 minutes longer to crisp the coating. Serves 4.
Leftovers refrigerate well up to 4 days. Do not freeze these leftovers. Leftover coating mix (1st 9 ingredients) can be stored at room temp in covered container up to 2 months.
